One of my monroe front struts shagged out last weekend and I am looking for a good replacement. I just wanted to get everyons thoughts on which would suit the 30mm lift the best. I am guessing OME but if anyone has other thoughts please let me know.

Give Tim from outdoor autos a ring. He might be able to assist you. Here is his contact number.

I am running the old man emu struts up front and I am very happy with thier performance. Big improovment over stock, and they are right about 30mm - 40mm longer than stock.
I dont think Tim carries OME, but he may have some other good options. Always good to support those who take care of GVs in the aftermarket Very Happy

Hi Greg,
Just curious, was there much difference in price between the OME and the Monroe replacement struts ?

The OME struts were $258 AUD per strut and the Monroes were $145 AUD each. The previous owner had them changed and I have the paper work. I read on a web page that the monroe was the same as the OME but that is not true. The OME may look the same but the OME is nearly 50mm taller. I should have replaced the monroes when I put in the 30mm lift as the monroes failed real early after being topped out by the springs.

Thank Greg,
Are you happy with the OME? Was the ride better , worse or just the same.
I've got OME all round and find it a bit stiff. To get around this, I carry a lot of weight in the car. All my recovery gear is in a kerway made storage area in the back along with 40kgs of rocks to make the suspension work. Makes it much more comfy as its my daily driver.

cheers

The biggest difference is the travel of the shocks. The dampening I would say is the same as the Monroes. I run King springs that have a 30mm lift. Not much stiffer than standard I would say.
